The Big Read

OUR MISSION
The Aspen Writers' Foundation provides programs that encourage writers in their craft and readers in their appreciation of literature, and creates opportunities to bring readers and writers together.

We believe that reading and writing are essential, and that great literature enriches our lives and creates understanding of ourselves and others.

In this modern day -- when language is often a casualty of a sound bite and gigabyte culture
-- we believe that our mission is more important than ever.
