Upcoming Events:

Thursday, July 17, 7pm
The Aspen Writers’ Foundation and Town Center Booksellers present "The Mountains of Solitude: An Evening of Tibetan and American Buddhist Poetry." Join us for a reading of ancient and contemporary Tibetan poetry and modern American Buddhist poems. The poetry will range from that of Milarepa and Rinpoche to the American Beats – Kerouac, Ferlinghetti, Di Prima – to Laurie Anderson, Jane Hirshfield, and more.

What better way to prepare for the Dalai Lama’s visit! Get ready for an exciting and eclectic evening, featuring performances by four esteemed local poet/actors: Jordan Dann of the Aspen Writers’ Foundation; Valerie Haugen of Thunder River Theatre Company; Kim Nuzzo of the Hudson-Reed Ensemble; and Cam Scott, poet-performer and fly fisherman.

This FREE event will be held at the bookstore, located under the clock tower at 211 Midland Avenue in Basalt.
